Take your dancing from a solid foundation to intermediate level!Suitable for complete beginners and those wanting to polish up basic technique

Thursdays for 4 weeks at 7pm - Starts 5 March!

What you will learn:

This four lesson intensive course will help participants improve basic technique and develop the variety of dance steps in their repertoire. The course content is designed to build up technique and step combinations and progressively increase in difficulty. Lessons consist of a warm up, followed by a technical module designed to address specific points which will help participants with the execution of steps taught during the course.

This is followed by step combinations and variations which are more difficult to teach in large group classes.
4 WEEK INT/ADV LAMBADA COURSEWith Michelle & Julia

This course is suitable for those with a solid knowledge of the basics wishing to take their dancing to another levelThursdays for 4 weeks at 8pm - Starts 5 March!

What you will learn:This four lesson intensive course will help participants sharpen their leading/following technique and explore difficult steps and combinations.

The course content is designed to build up technique and step combinations and progressively increase in difficulty to an advanced level.

Lessons consist of a warm up, followed by a technical module designed to address specific points which will help participants with the execution of steps taught during the course. This is followed by step combinations. Special focus will be on steps more difficult to teach in large group classes, such as advanced doll (boneca) combinations, and new steps.

In this course we will study the essence of Brazilian dance taking a close look at many different traditional and more modern styles of dance from Brazil.



This course will give an in depth overview of Brazilian dance drawing upon elements of the following traditions: Samba, Samba Rock, Samba de Rodo, Samba Rasgado, Zouk, Forrozouk, Brazilian Salsa, Puxada de rede, Maracatu, Maracatu Rural, Afoxés, Catira, Frevo, Baião, Coco, Caboclinhos, Xaxado, Xoti, Forró, Ciranda, Afro-Dance, Indian Dance, Chegança, Pachata, Bolero, Merengue and Dança Sagradas. This is an excellent course to develop a greater insight into the world of Brazilian dance.
Some dance experience is necessary for this course. Beginners – advanced dancers will be welcomed.

There seems to be a myth about the level dancing in places like Australia, however I can truly say, that there are many Australian dancers that are top class performers. Having attended the 1st Jose Prates Festival as a guest, I was astounded at the high level of performances in Sydney and the overall quality of the dancing in Brisbane is something to strive for, I believe the Queensland scene owes much of their achievements to Tarcisio Teatini Climaco and Tania Climaco (through her business acumen) who worked very hard in the early years to ensure that every dancer was provided with the basic foundations of a variety of dance styles, and not just a one style approach.
