There seems to be a myth about the level dancing in places like Australia, however I can truly say, that there are many Australian dancers that are top class performers. Having attended the 1st Jose Prates Festival as a guest, I was astounded at the high level of performances in Sydney and the overall quality of the dancing in Brisbane is something to strive for, I believe the Queensland scene owes much of their achievements to Tarcisio Teatini Climaco and Tania Climaco (through her business acumen) who worked very hard in the early years to ensure that every dancer was provided with the basic foundations of a variety of dance styles, and not just a one style approach.

This attitude is what gave birth to the wonderful well rounded dancers we see today in Brisbane.
